Xeitl (4R) was captured early afternoon on November 4th, 2013 using a net launcher. This approximately two year-old female was the youngest bird we captured in 2013. She spent winter of 2013/2014 in the small town of New Aiyansh, British Columbia. In summer she returned northward along the upper Inside Passage, and she returned to the Chilkat River in fall of 2014, where she spent most of the winter. In late winter 2015, she returned south to Terrace, BC, and spent her summer on Admiralty Island. Her name means “thunderbird” in Tlingit.
