Shaatk’ (4P) was captured on the morning of November 6th, 2012 using a ballistic net. We initially believed she would spend most of her time on the Chilkat, but as of late January, 2013, she began traveling southward into coastal British Columbia. She has alternated flying between central British Columbia and Haines, spending a lot of time around the ABC Islands. Early in 2014, she traveled southward into British Columbia, and spent time on the Nass River. She returned to the Chilkat for fall 2014, and spent most of the winter of 2014/2015 there. Her range seems to be closely tied to the Inside Passage. Her name means “young lady” in Tlingit.
