Káa (3C) was captured just before dark on November 4th, 2012 using a perch snare. 3C has thus far been one of our most active birds, traveling southward to Kitimat, British Columbia in the winter. In summer of 2013, he spent time near Yakutat, Alaska and spent most of winter 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 near Terrace, British Columbia. Summer 2014 saw him return northward around Prince William Sound. In general, he overwinters in British Columbia and spends summers to the north around the Copper River. Káa is Tlingit for “Man”, chosen since 3C is the adult male we’ve been tracking the longest.
